LSUS Pool photo

We are very fortunate to have a great relationship with LSUS.  The pool we swim in is the best overall pool in Shreveport.  The pool has been featured in many competitions and hit the silver screen in 2006.  All of the pool scenes in the movie The Guardian, especially the underwater scenes, were filmed at the LSUS pool.
The pool has 6 lanes and can be set up for 25 yards or 25 meters.  We usually swim 25 meters; as we like to say "10% more swimming at no extra charge!"  The pool depth ranges from 3.5 feet to 12 feet.  There is a moveable bulkhead at one end with a "learn-to-swim" area on one side and the lane on the other side.  The University maintains the water temperature around 83F and the water is generally crystal clear.  There is equipment available at the pool including pace clocks, kick boards, and pull bouys.

To get to the LSUS Pool:
Use the south drive at the LSUS campus, entering from Youree Drive or East Kings Highway.  The south drive will take you to either the second driveway on your right (if coming from East Kings Highway) or the second to last driveway on your left (if coming from Youree Drive).  The parking lot is marked as Bldg. #12
The pool is in the Health and Physical Education building, which is the easternmost building on campus and is surrounded by the soccer fields on the east side of it.  To get to the pool, park in the south lot and walk up to the building and enter on the west side (this is the left side of the building as you approach and faces the campus center).  Typically, the right most of the doors at the entrance is unlocked.  To get to the locker rooms, jog to the right and then left to go down the hall.  The pool is entered through the locker rooms.
The HPE building is #7 on the Campus Map http://lsus.edu/map/
