Training Aids

Swimming is an activity that largely assesses your skills in a non-compressible medium.  It is one of the "purest" activities that one can do.  We do not require any equipment to be used aside from a socially acceptable bathing costume (adult swimming, yes, but this is a family show).  There are some aids that can help you in your fitness journey that we use in our workouts.  We do have some equipment that we can let swimmers use during workouts to try out before purchasing what works for them.

We recommend the following training aids to help in our workouts:

  • pull bouy (you can use one at the pool or get your own)
  • hand paddles (ones that can be configured to only band around your middle finger)
  • short fins (zoomers, NeoFins, "Ed Nessel" fins, etc.)
  • front mounted snorkel (nose plug as needed)
This equipment can be purchased at athletic suppliers such as SportSpectrum and Kiefer.
We periodically put in orders for the NeoFins from Laguna Fin and the "Ed Nessel" Caribe fins from Oceanic.access
For equipment at SportSpectrum, inquire about the Red River Masters discount relationship.
For equipment through Kiefer, email Dave Young at dyoung AT kiefer DOT com and let him know you are with Red River Masters.
